HANDIYAL
Handiyal is a historical place of Bangladesh. From the time of British Administration until 1948, it was the Headquarters of Thana. Because of an earthquake in 1948 many buildings collapsed and the thana headquarters moved to Chatmohar (present Chatmohar Upozila). Handiyal became and remains a Union including the northern part of Pabna and bordered on the south by Nator and on the north by Sirajganj District. During the colonial period it was famous for Blue cultivation.
